. . . I agree with you . . . and that ineffective juvenile phrase “hugs, not bullets” not only didn’t work out as “dreamed” . . . there was NEVER any consequences against the CARTELS for all those bullets they fire from guns that everyday normal Mexicanos CAN NEVER OWN . . . so the CARTELS just continue to bully their own people, or as the CARTEL TRAFFICERS call them – “they are SHEEP”

Obrador pretty much ignored cartel activities. The result a few less murders but more encroachment of the cartels into more and more economic activity, siphoning off money that should be in the pockets of ordinary citizens and in government coffers. I’m not sure how to reverse this state of affairs, but the next president, most likely Sheinbaun, should acknowledge the problem and develop a strategy to deal with it. The hugs, not bullets policy hasn’t worked
