I can understand in the down ballot elections that some people will check a box based solely on name recognition. But are there really voters who do that in the bigger races? (Enough to swing an election)

This also means ignoring the party designation of the candidates on the ballot…voting purely on name recognition and no other factors. It just seems so unlikely.
